Popular Places To Visit In Southern Thailand
When it comes to finding things to do in South Thailand, the question is not whether there are enough amazing things to do and places to visit in South Thailand, but rather a question of having enough time to experience them all! From the beautiful, pristine beaches and incredible seafood of Phi Phi Island to the cultural delights and curiosities of Songkhla Old Town, the list is endless but here are a few of our favourite places to visit in South Thailand:
Koh Lanta Thailand
Koh Lanta is the name of an archipelago of 52 islands, some of them small and uninhabited. The main ones, connected by a bridge are:
- Koh Lanta Yai (big island)
- Koh Lanta Noi (small island)
Yai is where the majority of tourists find themselves and Noi, with its rubber plantations, deserted beaches, and peaceful fishing villages, is largely ignored by the travelling masses.
Ko Pha Ngan
For those looking to mix peaceful days lazing on an idyllic beach with wild, raucous nights, look no further than the world-famous Koh Pha Ngan. The monthly full moon party sees revellers come from far and wide to let their hair down. It is one of the best places in Southern Thailand, perhaps the whole world to do so, but not necessarily for the faint-hearted…

History and culture
- Ratchaprapa Dam
‘Light of the Kingdom’, this dam is tremendously important to the local community, generating electricity and providing irrigation. It also facilitates fishing and has created a picturesque lake that many tourists flock to visit every year.
- Nakhon Si Thammarat
Possessing one of the most fascinating, rich histories of any province in Southern Thailand, you can learn all about it at the National Museum of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
- Songkhla and Old Town
With fine beaches, mesmerising waterfalls, and a tranquil lake, tourists love the abundant, seaside resort town of Songkhla.
